No built in obsolescence here!

My washing machine has broken down. I am hoping that it will be fixed but I suspect there is built obsolescence and it is probably finished.

This has made me think about when I started out in 1996 and when I was choosing my fabric.  The last thing I wanted was to have disposable clothes which was why I chose these particular fabrics.

The poly was a particularly good fabric.  It is breathable, anti-static and wears very well – almost too well! No built in obsolescence here.  It works equally well for the trouserslip, full slip, half slip, french knickers and camisole.

The original silk was a little too light and in recent years I changed to a slightly heavier version and it is working out very well.  I am very happy with it and it wears much better than the original and suits all the products beautifully.

Customers have told me that it is so comfortable that they wear them – slip and french knickers  – as night wear and I concur. I wear the trouserslip and camisole for both day wear and night wear.

I am very proud that these clothes a good value for money and because they wear so well are much kinder to the environment.

And now I had better got out the wash board and carbolic soap and start scrubbing!
